About Me

I have loved design and being creative for as long as I can remember. I first dabbled in digital design when I was around 16, for our high school yearbook. Back then I used Photoshop 4 and PageMaker (so you can only guess how old I really am).

After graduating from Ateneo de Manila University with a degree in BA Communication, I took on various roles such as marketing, training administration, etc. but all of them requiring me to practice design one way or another.

In 2011, in a bout of quarter life crisis, I moved from the Philippines to Singapore with $1,500 in my pocket. A month later, I landed a job as Group Marketing Executive for an international project management company, where I would stay for the next 3.5 years. There I used my design skills and previous marketing experience to create and manage content, develop sales and marketing tools, and plan ambient event spaces, among many other things.

I moved to Ireland in 2015 and took time off for a few months. During this period I was involved in some freelance design commissions and launched my own line of stationery. I sold them on Etsy, at Christmas markets and in shops in Dublin and Galway. I also earned my inbound methodology certification from Hubspot Academy.

In 2016, I joined a user experience (UX) studio in Dublin, a position that was a perfect amalgamation of my design and marketing background. (Marketing has a lot more in common with UX than people might think; both have a great deal to do with knowing your customer/user.) I wore many hats in this role – from user researcher, information architect, interaction designer, visual designer, usability test moderator, service designer, web accessibility auditor, copy editor, to brand and marketing coordinator.

This cocktail of experience is one of my biggest strengths. It has given me the insight into a wide range of functions and industries, as well as the privilege to say that I've worked with people from every continent except Antarctica.
